Around 40 faculty and students from Peking University's School of Advanced Materials headed to Huidong County, Guangdong on April 11 for a spring outing themed around history, teamwork, and a break from the lab.

The group first visited the Yanhu Revolutionary History Museum, a former intelligence base during the wars of the 1920s–40s. After a guided tour, they moved on to a crystal bullet battle game at Xunliao Bay — running through alley and jungle terrain, calling out tactics, and wrapping up several rounds out of breath but laughing.

The afternoon also included two-person off-road buggies on a coastal track, followed by free time on the beach: volleyball, board games, or just sitting by the water. Short as the trip was, it brought together a sense of shared history, on-the-spot collaboration, and the kind of quiet break that doesn't need a big finale.
